VOLUNTEERS
AT ARC
BRIDGES
… Provide entertainment, companionship, building
beautification, transportation, and more! For example, a local church group “adopted”
two of our group homes. Special events, such as birthdays and
holidays, are also great opportunities for community groups to make
them special for our group home residents. Other volunteers have
helped train and coach members of our Special Olympics teams. Still
others help our participants work with crafts, bake, put on musical
programs, and garden. These are just a few of the activities our
volunteers have been helping with here at Arc
BRIDGES. Volunteers with office skills often assist in
our technical support, accounting, and staff development
departments. Some are helping workers in the busy work services
areas at our centers or sell candy for one of our fund-raising
events. The only requirement needed is that someone
wants to connect with others in a positive way. No
experience needed! Orientation is provided to every new volunteer,
as well as a guided tour of the facility to which he or she will be
assigned. Give Arc BRIDGES
an
hour a week, a day a month, once a year—weekdays, evenings, or
weekends-- it’s your choice! Requirements are explained during the application process by Paulette Zellers Volunteer Services Coordinator, during a personal application interview. Call her at (219) 884-1138, ext. 6505. GIVE HAPPINESS, FREEDOM, AND PEACE OF MIND TO SOMEONE ELSE VOLUNTEER
